Thank you!

Thank you to all who were able to come out for last week's Open House! The classes were short, but hopefully it allowed you an opportunity to tour the school(s), meet your son or daughter's teachers, and walk away knowing more about class expectations.

I'd like to take an opportunity to re-emphasize the importance of student attendance. If students aren't in class, then they can't learn! You may have noticed teachers promoting the automatic email notification in MiStar Parent Portal at Open House. This is a great way for parents to be informed of their child's daily attendance. You can click on the link to the right (web version) to sign up. Beginning this Wednesday, students who are late to class will be assigned a lunch detention on Friday. Teachers know to issue a late pass if students stay after class to speak with them. Please help us to communicate to your children how important it is that they are present and on time for class.

My name is Erica Powell. I am new to Plymouth and the social studies department this year. I completed my bachelor's at Michigan State. I majored in History and minored in Psychology. I aim to create an open and accepting classroom that supports high tech and collaborative learning.

I value time with my family. My husband and I spend many weekends at his family cabin in Tawas. We have two nephews that we love spending time with. We adopted our first dog last year and she is very spoiled. I enjoy gardening and I grow sunflowers and harvest their seeds every year.
I just finished the book Finding Gobi by Dion Leonard. It is a must read for any dog lover!

ALL FREE OF CHARGE!  Here's a LINK with more information and steps to enroll.  A link can also be found on the right under ACADEMIC LINKS.

Did you know that registration is taking place for the PSAT National Merit State Qualifying Test? The PSAT/NMSQT is a standardized test administered by the College Board.
